When goods come from several sellers, they can be received at a warehouse in China, checked and prepared for one international dispatch. This can simplify order management, but it does not automatically reduce cost: chargeable volume, timing and extra handling matter too.

How consolidation works

Each seller sends its part of the order to an agreed warehouse. On arrival, package count and outer condition are recorded, then receipts are matched against the expected list. After checking, you can decide which goods to combine, repack or send separately.

Give the warehouse details for each order

Use a separate reference for every seller and purchase. Share the tracking number, product description, expected carton count and any handling requirements. If arrivals are spread over several days, agree on storage time and what should happen if part of the order is delayed.

Compare the full cost, not just the parcel count

Combining several small parcels may be convenient, while large or fragile goods can need more protective material and space. Ask how the carrier calculates chargeable weight and volume, and clarify receiving, photo reporting, repacking and storage fees. Compare the total for one consolidated dispatch with separate routes—not only the per-kilogram rate.

When separate dispatch may be better

Separate shipping can make more sense when one item is urgent, batches will be ready far apart, goods need special handling or combining them complicates documentation. For fragile items, agree on protection before moving or palletizing them.

Consolidation checklist

  • Each seller and order has its own reference and expected contents.
  • Cartons are labeled and checked against the receipt list.
  • Arrival dates, storage and possible split shipments are agreed.
  • Volume, chargeable weight and warehouse handling costs are clear.
  • Route restrictions and destination-country documentation are checked.
